In late 2019 Tiger Security was awarded the contract for a major CCTV camera system installation at Auckland’s Alfriston College.
Stage one of the project included the installation of 103 security cameras across the length and breadth of the school’s property. Honeywell CCTV cameras and NVRs were selected for the project, which also included a Dahua PTZ camera.
Access to some of the locations for the new cameras proved challenging, requiring the use of specialist high access equipment, such as cherry pickers and scissor lifts to reach and cable to.
A total of 27 external cameras were installed, which were all bullet format models, with the exception of the Dahua PTZ camera.
A variety of methods were used to affix the external cameras – some were pole mounted, others attached directly to the exterior cladding, requiring installation of conduit, junction boxes, and associated materials.
Internal cameras were installed in more than 70 locations throughout all buildings, providing the college with a comprehensive surveillance solution.
