Tiger Security successfully completed a major security project at Edendale Primary School in Auckland, delivered alongside the refurbishment of Blocks 1 and 2.
The project presented significant technical challenges due to the central location of the two blocks within the school grounds and the way existing security infrastructure passed directly through the construction zone.
Maintaining the school’s operational security throughout the refurbishment was a critical requirement. With classrooms, access routes, and shared spaces remaining active, the integrity of the alarm and access-control systems could not be compromised at any stage. This required careful planning, staged works, and close coordination with the main contractors to ensure protection remained in place while building works progressed.
One of the most complex aspects of the project involved the re-routing of multiple security cables that originally ran between and through the refurbished blocks. These cables had to be relocated without interrupting live systems, requiring temporary pathways. The work demanded a high level of technical accuracy to ensure no loss of coverage, signalling, or system reliability.
Despite the constraints of working within an active school environment and a tightly scheduled refurbishment programme, the project was completed on time and to specification. The upgraded infrastructure now supports the school’s modernised facilities while maintaining robust security coverage across the site.
