Tiger Security has completed significant security infrastructure upgrade work as part of the Block S redevelopment at Edgewater College, delivering improvements aligned with the latest construction and electrical design requirements.

During project review, it was identified that the electrical drawings specified a higher number of security devices than were originally installed, and in some cases showed revised device locations. These changes required additional control equipment to ensure the expanded system could be properly managed and monitored. To address this, Tiger Security installed additional alarm control capacity, including two new eight-zone expanders, allowing the system to support the increased number of field devices while maintaining reliable performance and future expansion capability.

The upgrade included the full replacement of critical detection hardware across Block S. This involved the installation of 16 new passive infrared motion (PIR) detectors and 13 new door reed switches, improving intrusion detection coverage and reliability across classrooms and access points. Disconnection and removal of legacy equipment was also completed as part of the upgrade to ensure a clean transition to the new system architecture.

The completed upgrade ensures Block S now benefits from modernised intrusion detection capability, improved system scalability, and alignment with current electrical and building design standards.
