A new teaching block at Kowhai Intermediate School opened in 2022.
The two storey building is situated adjacent to Kowhai Street in the Kingsland/Mt. Eden area, and was built to cater for projected roll growth.
The first stage of the project involved a redesign of the school’s carpark on Onslow Road. Our task for this stage was to lay ducts and cables for future access control to the carpark.
Stage Two say the construction of the new building, which will include four new teaching spaces and additional rooms and offices. The building was to connect to the existing Tecom alarm system on site. A standard intrusion layout was designed, with PIR motion sensors and internal sirens added. Cables for a future CCTV camera installation were also pre-run.
The project was successfully completed in mid-2022.
