Alarms
Security alarm systems are designed to detect intrusion – unauthorised entry – into a building or area.
Security alarm systems are used in residential, commercial, industrial, and educational properties for protection against burglary (theft) or property damage, as well as personal protection against intruders.
A security alarm system comprises several components. The main component is the control panel which is the brains of the security alarm system. All the programming, set up, monitoring functionality takes place in the control panel.
There are various types of security alarm systems. Many allow only hard wired devices to be connected. Others allow only wireless devices to be connected. And there are those which allow a mix of hardwired and wireless devices to be connected.
Modern security alarm systems also offer a range of additional features like wireless remotes for setting and un-setting the alarm, ability to add access control functionality and smart phone apps that let you interrogate the alarm remotely.
